In 1997 planning started for a new science and technology building. The building was to house six specialist science labs, and four technology rooms for the teaching of resilient materials, graphics, food technology and textiles.
The Lingdale Building in 2000
The building was designed by Derek Hicks and Threw, the contract for construction was let to Horrocks Construction in June 1998. Work was due to be completed by the first week of July, 1999
The Lingdale Building Under Construction in 1999
Work started on site in August 1998, and so did the rain, building progressed slowly and the new block was handed over on 1st September 1999, nine weeks late.
The Lingdale Building in 2000
The completion of the new building coincided with the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the FCJ sisters in Wirral. The sisters founded a school in Lingdale House, Claughton which later moved to Upton Hall.
Princess Anne Opening the Lingdale Building in 1999
To mark the occasion of the 150th anniversary and to honour the contribution made by the sisters to catholic education in Wirral, the new building was named the Lingdale Building.

The Lingdale Building was officially opened by Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, on the 8th September 1999.
